The date for this event has been set for 1st July - 9th July with events happening throughout the week.
Creative arts enthusiasts are being urged to sign up for a one-day Uttoxeter Arts Festival challenge. The Rev. Victor Evans is allowing the Uttoxeter Arts Festival Committee, organisers of Flourish 2006, to use the grounds of St Mary's Church for the event on Wednesday, July 5.
The One Day Art Challenge is open to everyone and will give people of all ages the chance to paint, draw or knit anything they like in the church grounds.
The only requirement for the event, which runs from 10am until 4pm, is that people take their own equipment and lunch.
A local artist will also be on hand to give full guidance to participants.
Pieces produced will be displayed inside the church until Saturday, July 8.
The best-in-show will be announced on the same day, at the festival's historical re-enactment of the granting of the Market Charter, with a prize given to the winner.
Entry is free but pre-booking is essential by contacting the committee on 07738 471331, or by emailing info@flourishfestival.co.uk . St Mary's Church will also be hosting a concert, which starts at 7pm on Saturday, July 8.
The musical show is the last event of the Uttoxeter Arts Festival and features a free one-hour performance from the Staffordshire Youth Recorder and Renaissance Ensemble.
The UAFC, mainly run by three local students, was formed after an inaugural festival last year and has been working non-stop on the 2006 initiative for the past seven months.
It is based around the concept of visual art, drama and music for all and has received support from a number of local organisations.
The first Flourish festival was almost cancelled following an initial lack of support, but the UAFC has already made an appearance on BBC Radio Stoke to promote this year's event.
Simon Gittus, secretary of UAFC, said: "Preparations are going a lot better this year and everyone is getting involved.
"We have more events so we should cater for everyone and hopefully people will come out and support us."

HERITAGE CENTRE
The Uttoxeter Heritage Development Group have voted with the approval of the Town Council to apply for Charitable Status. We are looking for members from the society for the charity board – would you like to influence the development of the Centre and get involved in its outreach activities? – please let us know.

A number of interesting finds have appeared at our Wood Farm excavations – evidence of both Neolithic sites and Saxon settlement have been discovered

Community groups in Uttoxeter will be able to apply for extra funding for creative activities as part of a new scheme. Arts East Staffs' community team have launched the community art programme, offering grants for projects which give people the chance to experience art in their local area. As part of a similar scheme, professional artists will be able to apply for funding to help develop their career, through training or working within their local community.
